Romford and beyond are going the same way.
I always smirk to myself when people smugly say "ha ha don't bother me I've moved to Rayleigh /Hockley /Suffolk".
I always think you are next my friends you are next.

Ilford's a hole nowadays. It's also beyond gentrification.

There are still some OK parts, around Valentines Park as people have already said, but the scenes you are greeted with after stepping out of the station are a real shame.

I was born in and brought up in Ilford in the 60's & early 70's and it was great. It's a bit different now much like most of East London.

Anywhere along the crosstalk has seen prices shoot up including Harold Wood.

I'm not sure even the Tories can screw up the London property market at this stage, Queens.

Their trick has been to convince Daily Mail voters that Labour will fill the country with immigrants, when it's really the Tories' big business mates who want huge levels of immigration, as we saw under May as Home Secretary.

High levels of immigration will probably continue under either party, which means London property will remain in high demand.

Re: Let's move to ilford.
Hackney, Dalston, Shoreditch, Walthamstow etc. are full of absolute cunts, middle class northerners and home counties muppets with no personality who represent nothing but looking and doing like a Hipster.
I was brought up in Redbridge. As I said earlier the roads around Valentine's park are as good as anywhere plus it's near the tube. If I could afford it I would happily live next to the park.

Of course the North Circular made Ilford a lovely, desirable spot on the map of London...

In a decade or two London will be a city for the rich only.

It won't. Brexit and Tory's austerity ideology will screw the economy.

The pub opposite Newbury park tube used to have a fantastic curry house attached to it through.

Still does, but shame the pub itself is dead

Re: Let's move to ilford.
We live in Barking side near Newbury Park tube. Some nice roads with cottages and old terraced houses.
Okay it's not Hackney etc. Valentines park and the surrounding roads are lovely and Gant Hill tube is only a 10 min walk.
As London gets more overcrowded and overpriced these sort of areas in the suburbs will become more desirable.

Literally every place that borders ilford is better than it.

Including barking.
